When Handling Medications or Items That Have Come in Contact with Medications, Use Correct Protocol (Gloves, Eye Protection and Mask)

Syringes Barrels:

Clean barrels with soap and water (DO NOT screw tail piece or nose plug back on the barrel until they are dry) some types of well water and county water systems have minerals and or chemicals that will cause the barrels to corrode.

Needles:

Check to make sure the end hole or side ports on needles are not plugged (paper clips that have been straightened work fine). Needles that are plugged can cause the syringe barrel to swell, syringe to not empty all the way or the Cap-Chur Charge to go thru the Rubber Plunger. Make sure needles are sharp (a small file may be used to resharpen them)

Check the O ring for wear.

NOTE:

Acetone may be used to sterilize needles and barrels if needed, however avoid getting Acetone on O-rings (Acetone is available at most hardware stores)

Tail Piece:

Check O-ring for wear

You will notice that the smaller the tailpiece becomes the faster the syringe will travel.

If you do wash the Tail Piece be sure they are dry before you store them.
There is really no need to sterilize the Tail Piece, as they never come in contact with medication.

Wiping down the threads of the tail piece with a clean rag or paper towel is sufficient.

If the tail piece is washed they must be dried thoroughly before being stored.

NOTE:
Yarn Tail Piece resists burning if soaked in a strong solution of Borax.

Rubber Plunger:

Rubber Plungers are 100% rubber (DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF PETROLEUM BASE OIL SUCH AS MINERAL OIL OR VASELINE). Using petroleum based products will damage the Plungers.

Always after washing put a small amount of plunger lube on the plungers for storage.

Rubber Plungers may be kept in a jar or small bag with lube on them ready for use, this saves valuable time in the field.

Soap and water works great to clean Rubber Plungers.

NOTE:
